5 Places to Find Up-and-Coming Designers in London

London has always been a major hub for finding the latest big thing in fashion and design, and has played a major role in the international design scene for decades. It’s a fantastic place to explore local design talent and discover something new – here’s our guide to five top places to search for the up-and-coming labels in the city…

Lark London

This petite fashion boutique makes up for its diminutive size by packing a punch, supporting plenty of new designers from the UK fashion scene. This is the place to go when you’re on the hunt for something impactful from a brand you may not have heard of, but will likely know all about within a few years.

The shop specialises not only in supporting new talent sure to impress guests at the Montcalm hotel London, but also provides an array of vintage items which have been carefully sourced and selected for a great fit.

House of Hackney

A new British label on the rise, House of Hackney delivers both as a fashion brand and as a shopping venue, ideal for indulging your need for a little clothes shopping before heading to the Montcalm spa. The label is housed within a beautiful town-house, and includes patterned pieces which are adorned with the brand’s signature palm-tree print. The collection includes everything from clothing to distinctive homeware items, ensuring plenty to choose from during your visit.

Darkroom

A Bloomsbury ‘concept store’ which specialises in items from emerging design talent, Darkroom is a great place to stop by before heading to Hankies Marble Arch for dinner. Effortlessly stylish, this is where you will find one-of-a-kind goods from true artisans, as well as more utilitarian items and accessories to help make life a little more aesthetically pleasing! The shop is forever running new pop-up events where visitors can discover the latest talent before anyone else; and because of the unique look and feel of the store, shopping here feels like an experience in itself.

Fleur B

Run by a former fashion buyer who clearly knows what she likes, this store first opened in 2008 and includes both own-brand items and the latest and greatest from the world of fashion. Fleur B is noted for stocking items you might not find anywhere else, as well as larger, more established British and international labels such as Victoria Beckham, Mother and Goat.

Machine-A

An independent boutique dedicated to brand new fashions, the store is one of the most up-to-date venues for finding the most exciting design talent. The brand prides itself on stocking the latest new designers, so look out for plenty of graduates from the nearby Central Saint Martins, as well as more established brands already starting to make waves in the world of fashion.

Whether you’re avant-garde in your fashion choices or a little more restrained, the store caters to all possible tastes and styles with real flair and a love of the fashion process.
