Social Media & Content Assistant Manager

Job Overview

You'll be the social media champion for one of the UK's leading luxury hotel groups, pushing social as an essential component of the digital marketing mix and maximising its potential in promoting The Montcalm London brand. Working with our Head of Marketing & PR you'll develop and drive our earned and paid media strategy, planning and delivering effective and engaging content for all online channels to optimize paid and organic campaigns. You'll also produce on-brand content for owned media, including websites and social media channels.

Your mission is to put social at the centre of our content marketing, measurably growing our social media presence and optimising campaign efficacy. You'll not only manage all social media channels to drive audience engagement and satisfaction, you'll also develop innovative social campaigns and original, engaging content to induce envy in our competitors and compel action in our audiences. You'll achieve this by rigorous research and analysis of social trends and data, including social media advertising revenue and web visitor data. In other words, you'll bring science to social in order to demonstrate its value in building our brand.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of all social media accounts
  • Conceptualise, design and run engaging social media campaigns
  • Develop engaging, creative, innovative content for regularly scheduled posts which enlighten audiences and promote brand-focused messages
  • Produce on-brand content for online and offline channels, including (but not limited to) websites, email marketing activities, and sales and marketing collateral
  • Develop social media campaigns and strategies to achieve assigned targets and KPIs
  • Coordinate social media messaging with other marketing campaigns and overall brand strategies
  • Build productive relationships with social media influencers
  • Actively work on the brand blogs and blog posts by pitching new ideas relevant to our audiences and appropriate for the season and the product
  • Audit and analyse social media presence, engagement, following, and other trends
  • Create insightful and actionable fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Grow partnerships with likeminded luxury consumer brands for joint activities
  • Liaise with other departments to develop social media timelines coinciding with seasonal promotions and the introduction of new services
  • Develop guest engagement campaigns and ensure sustained engagement across all social media channels
  • Monitor and develop reports on competitor activity within social media spaces
  • Adhere to company policies and brand style

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an excellent grasp of the English language
  • An understanding of branding and the importance of a coherent and consistent brand experience
  • A creative and innovative thinker and planner with experience in growth hacking and influencer marketing
  • Extensive knowledge of Social Media platforms
  • The ability to produce a wide variety of content for multiple channels in a defined style and tone of voice
  • Incredible attention to detail
  • A sound understanding of the guest journey, with ideally at least 1-2 years' experience in the hospitality industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in creative writing, journalism or English
  • Demonstrable experience in a digital marketing and/or Social Media role
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Docs
  • Working knowledge of image editing, lay outing software, artwork creation and video production
  • Familiarity with keyword placement and SEO
  • Proofreading and editing skills
