Top 5 places in London to play pub games

Many of the pubs in London offer much more than simply great food and drink and a convivial atmosphere; they also give customers a chance to indulge in their favourite pub games during their visit. Here’s our roundup of the top places in London to play pub games…

Flight Club

Darts-themed venues don’t get much better than this, and Flight Club also offers an array of fantastic food and drink as well as a choice of two venues, in Shoreditch and Bloomsbury. The darts games are available for groups of between 2-400 people, making this an infinitely flexible space for parties of all sizes to enjoy an evening out. The bar was voted the best brunch venue in the city in 2017, and there’s an extensive cocktail menu too. Added touches include a ‘reaction cam’ and waitress service for more convenience. Booking early is advised as the bar is very popular and spaces tend to get filled pretty quickly! While it’s not one of the quiet pubs in London, if you’re seeking a more raucous evening of pub games, this is just the ticket.

Draughts

There are over 900 board games to choose from at Draughts, making it the one-stop shop for enjoying the dual pleasures of pub grub and a civilised game with friends or family close to the London City Suites by Montcalm. There’s two branches, in Hackney and Waterloo, so if one is fully booked you could always try and get a space at the other. The official Draughts website includes a full library of the games on offer and there’s a packed roster of special events during the week.

Bounce

A bar themed around table tennis might sound like an eccentric idea, and it certainly is – but nonetheless the venue is spectacularly effective at creating an affable atmosphere and inspiring friendly competition amongst visitors. There’s a great bar and a comprehensive pizza menu to choose from, so this is one to give a whirl if you demand more than a board game and need something a little more energetic to keep you entertained.

The Grill at the Montcalm

A delightfully relaxing space with great food and a brilliant atmosphere, the Grill at the Montcalm is conveniently situated for hotel guests, but also welcomes in guests from around London and offers a fine selection of games to enjoy during your visit. With friendly staff and a packed menu, there’s no better place to enjoy the city at a slower pace over a game.

Brewdog

This Camden draught beer venue is not only great for enjoying the latest from the world of beer, but is renowned for its vast selection of board game classics. It is ideal for wiling away an idle afternoon during your stay in London. The bar is sleekly decorated for a fantastic ambiance, and the burger and wings menu is difficult to beat!
