If you’re looking to enjoy some great live entertainment in London, then there are few better events to look forward to than the various music festivals that are set to be staged in the capital in the coming months.
Indeed, there are few activities that can be more fun than seeing a top live music act in the summer sunshine.
And the sense of excitement has just been heightened by the news that The Libertines are to reunite for a gig in Hyde Park, much to the delight of their legion of fans who have long wondered whether the group would ever perform together again.
Lead singer Pete Doherty has spoken of his excitement about the upcoming show and revealed that he is also looking forward to seeing some other big name acts at the event, which will feature the likes of The Pogues, Maximo Park and The Enemy, among others.
Speaking to NME, Doherty said: “The Pogues will be brilliant, and also I’d love to see – and I’m gonna get a big groan now … but I’m thinking we should get The Bandits to reform. That’d be cool. Having The La’s would be amazing too.”
Bandmate Carl Barat added: “That would be sweet, The La’s, wouldn’t it? We were trying to do something with the Bandits last time, and Chas and Dave too.”
As well as enjoying live music at a festival, you could also book tickets to see a big name act at one of the great venues in the capital.
For instance, One Direction have announced plans to play at Wembley Stadium this summer, while the likes of Dolly Parton and Katy Perry will be appearing at the O2 Arena in the coming months.
Both of these venues can be reached from the Montcalm Hotel using the London underground network.
